Unfortunately fears about my own efficiency in negotiating the Flat racing scene – never mind the polytrack – appear to have been well founded as only Colin Keane’s delivery for his boss Ger Lyons aboard PHOENIX OPEN in the claiming race prevented a total whitewash.

There would be a modicum more confidence about a better strike rate with what is an attractive looking jumps card today at Cork, where the standout, for me at least, is Adrian Heskin coming home to ride one horse for Gordon Elliott in the silks of the rider’s retainers, the McNeill family.
