THERE are reports emerging tonight that the Sligo County Board will officially inform Connacht Council chiefs that they will be unable to field a team in the weekend’s slated provincial SFC semi final against Galway.
Reports emerged on Tuesday afternoon that there were seven members of the Yeats County panel had tested positive for Covid-19. Even allowing for that, though, it will surely come as a jolt to the G.A.A. hierarchy and those who had put in mammoth efforts to get some sort of inter-county activity back on the rails.

Longford did, of course, concede their final league game to Cork, but, that was essentially a ‘dead rubber’encounter with nothing at stake. The concession of a championship game, though, is a very worrying development. We can only hope that this case is only a trickle rather than a surge which could burst the dam and put paid to action for the rest of 2020 at least.
