Weir shows his hand for League opener

Meath manager Nick Weir has revealed his lineup for tomorrow’s Allianz National Hurling League opening round encounter against Kildare in St Conleth’s Park, Newbridge. The match has a midday throw in time.

Therein, The Royals – who this week announced the extension of their sponsorship deal with Glenveigh Homes – will be hoping to kickstart their season having tasted defeat in their two Kehoe Cup outings.

Kildalkey clubman Brendan McKeown makes his debut in the full back line while David Reilly (Drumree) and Patrick Potterton (Kildalkey) form a new centre field combination.

Elsewhere, the evergreen Mickey Burke anchors the defence and Meath will look to their prolific pair, Padraic O’Hanrahan and Jack Regan in attack.
