CJH ensures Lough Crew top the poll on the first count

Lough Crew…1-11

An Tuaisceart…0-13

A goal after three minutes from Oldcastle’s CJ Healy was ultimately the decisive factor as the Ballinlough/Moylagh/Oldcastle/St Brigid’s combination ensured their opponents blinked first in the battle of the unbeaten teams in the Dioralyte Regional Football Championships at Dunganny on Tuesday night.

After his sparkling display last week, Sean Meade was once again to the fore for those being guided by his Nobber colleague Brian Farrell. This week, lining out at top of the left, the eye-catching forward split the posts on five occasions during the first half.

However, with Jason Scully and Harry Ryan prominent in attack, it was Lough Crew who shaded it by 1-06 to 0-07 when referee Keith Sheerin signalled it was time for the Jaffa Cakes.

Sean Reilly of Moylagh

The sides traded scores in the opening phase of the second half before the impressive Sean Reilly of Moylagh pointed to leave a clear goal between the sides before a long range free from Meath Hill’s number one Dominic Yorke narrowed the deficit to the minimum.
