Goalkeeper Sean Brennan, midfielder Conor Gray and corner forward Aaron Lynch will make their Championship debuts for Meath in tomorrow’s Tailteann Cup opener against Tipperary in Navan.
Dunderry’s Brennan was a member of a successful county Minor side a few years ago and made his competitive debut earlier in the year in the O’Byrne Cup. He is a grandson of former Meath All Ireland medal winner and selector, Tony Brennan.
Conor Gray of Dunshaughlin comes straight into the starting 15 to partner Ronan Jones at centre field having impressed in Meath’s unfortunately brief stay in the Leinster U-20 FC while Trim clubman Lynch is rewarded for some impressive contributions during the season to date with a first start at top of the left.
Among the subs, Skryne’s John O’Regan and Ben Wyer of Ratoath are promoted from the U-20s and Development Squad respectively. Surprisingly, however, having been central to the revival of sorts the last day against Offaly, Jason Scully is an absentee from the panel.
