Unlike the county senior footballers in their first campaign under the stewardship of Robbie Brennan, Johnny Greville’s Meath hurlers have the biennial fixture flip flop on their side with three – or half of the Allianz NHL Div. 2 outings slated for St Loman’s Park in Trim. Why the matches aren’t fixed for Pairc Tailteann is puzzling to say the least but that’s a thought for a different day.
The one thing we can say for certain is that Greville’s gang will face significant Northern Exposure – to employ the name of the 1990s TV show – with Donegal, Derry and Down also in the same amalgam. Also therein are Kerry and Kildare who have caused Royal stickmen no end of headaches in recent seasons.

All of which makes victory in the home matches, against Donegal, Down and Kildare all the more imperative as the green and gold endeavour to generate forward momentum again after a campaign which petered out all too quietly in 2024.
