Kildalkey double does the trick up North

MEATH… 2-22

TYRONE… 2-14

Goals in each half from Kildalkey clubmates Nicky Potterton and Evan Fitzgerald proved to be priceless as Meath came away from Tyrone’s Centre Of Excellence in Garvaghy with their unbeaten record in NHL Div. 2 still intact.

Poacher Potterton cut in along the endline and fired home after 26 minutes and, though Jack Regan’s unerring accuracy into the wind kept Meath ticking over, a spectacular goal from Kiefer Morgan for the home side gave them a somewhat unlikely 1-09 to 1-08 interval advantage.

That was wiped out in less than two minutes after the restart via points from Regan and Fitzgerald. Then Tyrone hit back with another goal, a scrambled effort from Ciaran McGill, but, almost instantly, Fitzgerald cancelled that out with a sublime finish of his own and an an even better point. Though it was the Kiltale clubman who knocked over the final couple of scores leaving his own tally just one shy of the dozen for the day.
