Meath manager Shane McCormack has opted to put captain Aisling Cleary straight back into his starting 15 ahead of their showdown with Dublin in the first round of the TG4 Leinster LSFC at Pairc Tailteann.
This despite the fact that the Donaghmore/Ashbourne clubwoman missed the closing stages of the National League. Presumably in readying herself for the bottom end of the world.
However, it just so happens that both counties will have plenty of freshness about their lineups. Paul Casey and Derek Murray opting uo hold Lauren Magee, Carla Rowe and Sinead Goldrick in reserve.
For their part, Meath have opted to retain Robyn Murray between the posts, in preference to the vastly experienced Monica McGuirk.
Elsewhere, despite having done a fine job anchoring the defence in front Sarah Wall throughout the league, Mary Kate Lynch and Dunboyne’s other wonder Wall swap spots for the championship opener.
Both of them will be anchor points behind another new midfield combination of Marion Farrelly and the only Championship newcomer in the side – Orlaith Sheehy of the Dee Rangers club.
The second vice captain in the group, Niamh Gallogly, will lead the attack but can also be depended upon to augment midfield operations for the Royals who will look to Ciara Smyth, Vikki Wall and Emma Duggan to steer them towards a first provibcial title in 26 years.
