Breaking News – Mickey Harte finds new venture

BY SUSIE KIERNAN

Sensational news breaking from the Wee County tonight. Mickey Harte didn’t keep us waiting too long to find out his plans for 2021. In a rather unlikely move, Harte has been appointed as the new Louth senior football manager on a three year term.

Louth GAA also confirmed tonight that Gavin Devlin will act as assistant manager.

Devlin, who worked under Harte with Tyrone, will take charge of the Louth Under 20 team in 2021.

Following a successful stint earning Tyrone national glory at minor and Under 21 level, Harte guided the Red Hands to All Ireland senior titles in 2003, 2005, and 2008.

Harte stepped down from his role with Tyrone 2 weeks ago after the recent Ulster Championship loss to Donegal.

A statement released by Louth GAA said:

We would like to give Mickey and Gavin a very warm welcome to Louth and we look forward to working closely with them over the next three years.”
