Wall’s strike a winner as Royals roll on

Meath.. 1-18

Tipperary… 0-07

Vikki Wall’s second half goal sealed a comfortable victory for the Royal County as they continued their ascent through the ranks of Ladies Football continued.

Their victory was a measure of compensation for the defeat by the Premier County in the All Ireland IFC final a couple of years back and, of more immediate priority guaranteed them a place in the last eight of the race for the Brendan Martin Cup.

Eamonn Murray’s charges laid the foundations for this latest step forward in the first half, at the conclusion of which they had established a cushion of 0-12 to 0-04. The tone for things having been set when they posted the first four scores of the game without riposte once Emma Duggan had opened the scoring.

To their credit, the Munster outfit rallied immediately after the restart, hitting three unanswered points before Wall’s magnificent ‘major’ booked their ticket for a tilt at either Mayo or Armagh.
