Saturday’s O’Byrne Cup clash between Wicklow and Meath, scheduled for the Bray Emmets club grounds, has been postponed.
Leinster Council has confirmed this morning that the opening round clash has been postponed, with a combination of injuries and Covid close contacts in the Wicklow squad understood to be the reason.
With both teams set to play this day week and again the following Saturday, it’s understood if the game can’t be rescheduled, Meath would be awarded the points. As it currently stands, Andy McEntee’s team will return to action, against Laois in Stradbally on January 12th at 7.30pm
