Meath manager James Andrews has named a strong panel for Saturday’s U-20 B HC encounter against Antrim in St Loman’s Park, Trim. Throw in is at 2pm.
The selection includes five members of Seoirse Bulfin’s Senior group – the Shine brothers, Tom and Daire, Jack Fagan, Joey Cole and Paddy Barnwell.
Now, I may be alone in the following view, but, to me, it’s grossly unfair to ask lads to go out and play a championship match in their age grade 24 hours before they partake in a National League Final. Not to mention that the forthcoming is predominantly a football weekend, with a plethora of finals taking place in GAA HQ.

Some will no doubt scoff at the following but, to my mind, there is absolutely no way (a) such a fixture conundrum would be allowed to manifest itself in football or (b) in a scenario involving one of the prominent hurling counties.
And don’t get me started on all the League Finals in hurling not being in Croker!
