Mc switches to the back for Donegal date

The re-location of Ratoath’s Niall McLarnon to wing back is the point of most note on the Meath team announced for Sunday’s NHL Div. 2B Final against Donegal in Avant Money Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada, Carrick-On-Shannon.

McLarnon has featured as a half forward in most of Meath’s matches to date this year, but his transfer to defence sees a couple of other positional alterations. Namely, Kildalkey’s Martin Healy starting in midfield alongside Seanie Geraghty and Mikey Cole of Trim taking over in the No. 12 jersey.

When the sides met in Round 3 of the regulation fixtures, Seoirse Bulfin’s men enjoyed a home win on a scoreline of 1-23 to 0-16. The Limerick native will obviously be hoping the five U-20 players on his panel, Jack Fagan, Daire Shine, Tom Shine, Joey Cole and Paddy Barnwell, come through Saturday’s U-20 B HC clash against Antrim unscathed in the meantime.
