Ratoath… 1-14
Moynalvey… 0-08
Keegan Cup holders Ratoath got their quest for a fourth title in five years off to a satisfactory start when they had nine points to spare of Caoimhin King’s Moynalvey at Fr McManus Park, Skryne.
Wing forward Cian O’Brien hoisted over the first score for Kevin Reilly’s side inside a minute and by the time those in maroon and white disturbed the umpires, Daithi McGowan and Bryan McMahon had chalked up another half dozen between them.

That was still the gap between the sides (0-08 to 0-02) at the break and thereafter things continued along similar lines. And though the very accurate David McLoughlin did point five times in the second half, a late Ben McGowan goal put a better gloss on the scoreline for the champions.
SCORERS RATOATH – D. McGowan and B. McMahon (0-5 each), B. McGowan (1-0), R. Byrne (0-2), C. O’Brien and E. Wallace (0-1 each)
SCORERS MOYNALVEY – D. McLoughlin (0-6), C. O’Sullivan and P. Harnan (0-1 each).
