Harden in a hoop after boss bust-up

James Harden, who some, with justification, would consider to be of equal status to LeBron James and Stephen Curry within the NBA, has found himself in hot soup with the Association’s Brains Trust after articulating his anger about Philadelphia 76ers top cat Daryl Morey abundently clear at a promotional event in China.

The player, 34, is quoted as saying “Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never work for an organisation he’s involved in again”. Basketball’s governing body have not taken kindly to the comments and have fined the former MVP $100,000.

It is believed Harden’s beef with Morey stems from the 76ers failure, so far anyway, to give he of the unmistakable beard a Trade away (transfer). The pair having previously worked in tandem at the Houston Rockets.

Mind you, it must be said, the player himself is something of a restless soul. You suspect it’s in pursuit glory rather than financial gain, but, he has already hopped from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets and on to the 76ers.

Now, the 76ers other star man, Joel Embiid, has said that, even despite Morey-Gate, Harden could still have a future in the home of cream cheese. Given that the NBA themselves have got involved, that’s hard to see.

With the tip off of the new season only weeks away, watch this space.
