Night One team news for Regional Championships

In another progressive development, Meath GAA have released team news – where it was submitted by the relevant team managements – ahead of tonight’s opening fixtures in the 2023 Brady’s Skoda Regional Football Championship.

As with the inaugural staging of same, teams will be constructed of players from Junior and Intermediate clubs with a couple of noteworthy exceptions. Both Sean Ryan (St Peter’s, Dunboyne) and Dunshaughlin’s Luke Mitchell have been included in Tara’s starting 15 having missed the local club championships through emigration and injury respectively.

Also different from last year’s script, whereas last time out all matches – with the exception of the Final – were played in Dunganny, this term there will be games played in grounds around the county which can accommodate floodlit football. Though ironically, the repeat of last year’s decider between Boyne Valley and Tara, previously scheduled for Batterstown, has been switched to the Centre Of Excellence as the home of Blackhall Gaels is unplayable.
