Joe Cowley and his fellow mentors have announced their starting 15 and extended panel in advance of them getting their Leinster MFC campaign underway against perennially strong Kildare in Stamullen this evening. The match throws in at 7.30.
Host club St Patrick’s are represented by Cian Murphy between the posts while Conor Black – a survivor from last year’s team – anchors the defence. Their inclusion is a fitting tribute to the late, great Johnny Sullivan Snr, who gave so much to Meath underage football over so many years.

Seneschalstown’s Cowley has included Charles McCarthy and Jamie Norris on the panel representing the Yellow Furze. If my auld gearbox up top is working any way right, I think the former is a nephew of the former star of the same name who represented the county with distinction at the highest level. A young man of unrivalled Walterstown pedigree lining out in the blue with gold hoop. The wheels of life never stop turning.
