Treble chasing holders get Regional Championships under way

The 2024 Brady’s Skoda Meath Regional Football Championship gets underway in the impressive surrounds of Ballinlough GFC this evening, as holders Boyne Valley go in search of a third consecutive Richie Barry Cup triumph, beginning their latest title defence against the local Lough Crew Gaels divisional outfit.

Boyne manager Joe Sheridan and his fellow mentors will be able to select players from Walterstown, Syddan, Slane and Bective. Three out of the four of whom qualified for the knockout stages of their respective championships. On the other side, Lough Crew boss Davy Nelson will have players from Ballinlough, Moylagh, Oldcastle and St Brigid’s at his disposal.

The home side will be hoping to improve their record against the opposition in question whilst you can be sure the new Meath management will be keeping a keen eye on the action in the novel competition to see who will be the next to emerge therefrom to make the step up to service in green and gold.
