Littler and Sherrock on potential collision course

Should Fallon Sherrock, as would be expected, overcome Ryan Miekel in the first round of the William Hill sponsored World Darts Championship, the Queen of the Palace will then be faced with the more ominous proposition of potentially being nuked by last year’s runner up Luke Littler.

Other potential pairings pulled out in Monday evening’s draw included:

Stephen Bunting v. Alan Souter; James Wade v. Jermaine Wattimena; Mike De Decker v. Luke Woodhouse and Ryan Searle v. Mensur Suljovic.

Regrettably from the perspective of Irish darts, the draw could scarcely have broken any worse, with two of ours – The Magpie of Limerick, Willie O’Connor, and World Championship debutante, Tipperary’s Dylan Slevin – were drawn against each other. As bad as that is, though, one cannot but feel sorry for Meath’s Keane Barry who faces tangling with the cantankerous Gerwyn Price if he’s lucky enough to get by the other barrel of laughs that is Kim Huybrechts of Belgium.

A lot of tungsten will have to be thrown to even get to that stage though, and the draw in full for the action which gets underway at the Alexandra Palace on December 15th is as follows:
