A 26-year-old male has appeared in court in Cambridge, England, charged with the murders of the wife and two daughters of BBC and Sky Sports Racing commentator and broadcaster John Hunt on July 9th last.
Kyle Clifford, of Enfield, North London, was thought to be the boyfriend of Louise Hunt (25) either at or shortly before the time of the massacre, which took place at the Hunt family home. Neither John Hunt or a third daughter, Amy, were present at the time of the massacre, which, you’d reckon, saved their lives.
Clifford was further charged with the rape of Louise Hunt, whose body was found restrained, after she and her sister Hannah (28) were shot to death with a crossbow on the same occasion their mother Carol (61) was stabbed multiple times in the frenzied attack which flabbergasted all sectors of society due to its ferocity and how well known and widely respected John Hunt is in his professional arena.
John Hunt is one of the most familiar voices in the world of horse racing, due to, anchoring and commentating on racing matters with both BBC and BSkyB, while his most famous piece of descriptive journalism will surely be recorded as that on the occasion of AP McCoy’s 4,000th career winner when he simply said “What a hero, what a sportsman, what a jockey”.

When John bravely returned to the commentary less than four months after his life was so utterly devastated, if you swapped journalist for jockey it would have perfectly encapsulated how so many of us felt about John.
May the family and friends of Carol, Hannah and Louise get justice on their behalf and may all three rest in peace.
