O’Halloran starts – on paper at least – for Meath

Despite a sense that a promise from a politician is probably as believable, if not more so, than what appears on a Meath team sheet these days, the humble hack can only work with the material supplied.

Thus, Brian O’Halloran’s inclusion in place of Eoin Harkin represents the only the only change from the the side which beat Cavan 13 days ago. Even without misgivings about supplied teams though, there may well be further changes come throw in time.

Brian O’Halloran is listed to start for Meath

Simply because (i) Ciaran Caulfield appeared to be limping heavily at the end of the Sigerson Cup Final and (ii) if Mat Costello is fit and available for selection, it would seem highly unlikely that he would fail to see action at some point.

MEATH – B. Hogan; S. Lavin, S. Rafferty, D. Keogan; B. O’Halloran, S. Coffey, C. Caulfield; J. Flynn, B. Menton; C. Duke, J. Kinlough, R. Jones; J. Morris, S. Walsh, E. Frayne.
