Impact subs rewarded with a start

Robbie Brennan has made two changes to the side which went within one bad refereeing decision of winning the Leinster SFC two weeks ago ahead of Saturday’s All Ireland SFC opening round encounter with familiar foes Cork at Pairc Tailteann.

Fair play to Sam Mulroy for exacting punishment on a foul which only one person in 65,786 saw, but one would hope that debacle and the below par defencive display would have the locals with the bit between their teeth as they attempt to break new ground in the county’s GAA history.

For the latest stop on the 2025 journey, Meath’s 12th outing in all, Ronan Ryan and Jordan Morris are rewarded for both making positive impacts off the bench in recent times, with Brian O’Halloran and Keith Curtis – both very harshly in my view – the ones to make way.

It is also worth noting that Dunshaughlin’s Conor Gray makes a welcome return to the subs bench, so too Cian McBride as Mick Murphy, Daithi McGowan, Ronan Jones and Cillian O’Sullivan miss out.

Jordan Morris makes a surprising but very welcome return to the Meath starting 15
