If National League team announcements are worth the paper or screens they are written on, Meath have gone with the strongest combination available to them for Saturday’s National League opener against Derry in Croke Park.
That means, despite missing Summerhill’s Leinster Club SFC encounter with Athy nearly three months ago, Eoghan Frayne captains the side from top of the left while Jack Flynn makes his first appearance since the Cork game in the All Ireland Series.

All Star nominee Ruairi Kinsella misses out through injury, his place on the half forward line going to Seneschalstown’s Cathal Hickey. Among the subs, there are returns to the fold for Jack O’Connor and Jordan Muldoon – both having been absent last season – while Killian Smyth, Oisin ‘Timber’ Martin and Charlie O’Connor feature in the matchday panel for the first time.
MEATH – Billy Hogan (Longwood); Seamus Lavin (St Peter’s, Dunboyne), Sean Rafferty (Na Fianna), Brian O’Halloran (Ballivor); Donal Keogan (Rathkenny), Sean Coffey (Ballinabrackey), Ciaran Caulfield (Trim); Jack Flynn (Ratoath), Bryan Menton (Donaghmore/Ashbourne); Conor Duke (Dunshaughlin), Mat Costello (Dunshaughlin), Cathal Hickey (Seneschalstown); Jordan Morris (Kingscourt Stars, Cavan), Keith Curtis (Rathkenny), Eoghan Frayne (Summerhill, Capt.)
