Cathal O’Bric’s Meath U-20 footballers will be hoping to secure a third provincial final appearance in a row when they begin their Leinster Championship campaign on March 25th. Having ended the county’s 23 year wait for a title at the grade in 2024, the young Royals got caught up in the Louth whirlwind which won them the Leinster SFC just three days before the Wee County also claimed their first crown at the final underage grade since the year this writer was born, 1981.
Outside of my own clubman John Harkin and Cian Commons of Seneschalstown, I am unsure as to how many of last year’s panel Cathal will have at his disposal, but his options will surely be boosted by the presence of some of those who contested the Paul McGirr (All Ireland MF B) Cup last season.
