Much down for decision in final round of Regionals

And so, quicker than Eamon Ryan falls asleep at a meeting, we’ve arrived at the concluding round of the Brady’s Skoda Meath Regional Football Championship’s group stages. With the action getting underway with a double header in Dunganny this (Tuesday) evening.

Holders Boyne Valley would, notionally appear to be in the driving seat overall as they take on an Ardbraccan side who have yet to pick up a victory in this year’s Championship. But Paul Garrigan’s charges were very unlucky not to take something from their opening encounter and are more than capable of being a match for anybody. Underlining the even nature of the team selections and the quality of the competition they have produced.

Ardbraccan boss Paul Garrigan

Tonight’s other encounter, in which Bru Na Boinne take on Tara, is, in one sense, a way or go home affair, for the latter anyway, although a draw would be enough to take Niall Ronan’s side through.
